We skinned approximately 1800 feet up Lichtenberg Mountain on Tuesday the 25th moving up the left side of the Mountain. In the AM there were very firm surface conditions due to the melt-freeze cycle currently occurring. Snowpack became edge-able around 11 AM and the top 2 inches had softened by 12:30 PM.
One member of our group was on snowshoes and removed the snowshoes around 12:15 PM and while booting punched through crotch deep. Those on skis did not experience much ski pen. to note.
Began decent around 12:30 PM. Good corn skiing on the steeper slopes. The lower angle slopes towards the bottom of the mountain remained firm.
No new avalanches observed. No roller balls. Observed surface hoar down in the valley.
