Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Avalanches had run in chutes along van trump creek in the distant past. Snow was softer down low in the trees, up high, snow was very firm and penetration was very limited. Frozen runnels made for a bumpy ride, half had wind transported snow that was a few cm deep at most. Started getting a semblance of corn later in the day on the right aspect. One steep section that was very sun affected produced roller balls when skinning above. Besides that, things were pretty locked up and stable.
