Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Slide for life conditions confirmed above Palmer with four observed slides including my own. Three were initiated by equipment failure (crampon detachment and two pre-releases on skis). Cause of the fourth was unknown.

Four inch deep windslab also present in the crater on both sides of the hogsback and in the devil's kitchen. Small sections would break off underfoot with no additional entrainment.
