A pit at 3600ft near Blue Lake. Layers were hard crusts with 1F/P rounds or melt forms between the crusts. Runnels were visible on the surface.
Kids scrambling around on the variable, crusty surfaces. Most weren't breaking through the crust, but sometimes they were.
8cm surface crust, semi-breakable on foot and sled at all elevations we traveled (up to 3600ft) in the Baker NRA

Snowpack Observations

The main goal of the day was getting out on the Glacier Cruisers Youth Ride, which was a blast. Everywere we traveled the surface crust was present. It was solid enough to lock the snowpack in place, and I wasn't concerned about avalanches where I went.
