Calm

An overall very pleasant weather day in the Olympics. No blowing snow observed. Low to Mid clouds rolling in over ridgetops to the West of Hurricane Ridge by the late afternoon.

Snowpack Observations

Observed 12/8 BSH ~30cm down in most terrain traveled that was not densely forested. In the limited locations where BSH was not observed, a strong, rightside up snowpack exists. Thin (1-3cm) and breakable surface crusts were present on solars and steeper E and W facing slopes. Lower angled and sheltered W-N-E aspects hold settled powder at the surface. A new crop of SH is forming in sheltered terrain.
