A few breaks in the clouds before noon but mostly socked in and snowing, S5 or greater with light wind transport.

Heavy snowfall with a bit of wind initiated a dry loose cycle of D1's initiating in very steep terrain. Easy to get snow moving with you descending 35 degree terrain. 20cm from 8:00 to 12:30.

Snowpack Observations

+60cm in wind loaded areas. Mostly F new snow slightly harder with moist new snow above crust. HST well bonded to crust. Hand shears showed 1F wind slab below surface - could get a planar shear but no reactivity on larger test slopes etc. 2-4cm 4/8 crust is ski supportable below new snow but not boot supportable, moist MF and RG below down to 4/3.
