Sunny with a few high thin clouds. Steady temperatures in the upper 30s F with light westerly winds. No blowing snow visible on the upper mountain.
No new avalanches
The 2-3in of storm snow from 3/30-31 was moist and partially covering a dirty and melting snowpack below 6000ft. Only a few snow bridges were left in lower White River Canyon, and an open creek crossing and some dirt travel were required to access the middle moraine. Above 6000ft, coverage significantly improved, and snow surfaces appeared smooth. Ski cuts produced a few rollerballs within the recent snow that didn't run very far or entrain. Evidence of previous wind loading on the upper mountain was visible, but very minor. Soft, corn-like turns were found on steep sunny slopes by mid-morning.
