D3 avalanche off the N side of Wedge Mtn. This slide occurred between Noon on 1/6, and Noon on 1/7, likely with intense wind transport that kicked up.
Very large avalanche off a rare path. This slide came within a few hudnred feet of some houses in lower Icicle, and carried some large logs with it. SE facing terrain at lower elevation.
Multiple avalanches had run in the same terrain in areas such as this. Low elevation, N facing terrain just east of Snow Creek Trail.

This is the debris pile a few hundred feet past the Snow Creek TH on 1/7 at 11:40am. I backed up and turned around from there.

Very large avalanches of many types noted on the steep hillsides surrounding Leavenworth including wind slabs, wet loose, dry loose, glide, and roof avalanches.

Snowpack Observations

Snowpack remains very deep, with a boot pen of around chest deep. Snow surfaces became moist quickly after sun hit. This all rests over lots of low density, dry snow.
