Light to Calm winds but we traveled in generally protected areas. Precip was S-1 more-or-less the entire day.
No recent avalanches obseved.
We observed around 30-40cm (12-14") of new, low-density snow sitting on the crust that formed during yesterday's warm-up (Dec 11 MFcr). While our travel was limited to the fairly low elevation we observed no structure in the upper snowpack in any of our hand shear, small slope, and formal compression tests. We skied several slopes to 35 degrees with no signs of instability and no cracking or Whumpfing was observed. In the NTL band where we traveled (with a max elevation of ~3900ft) we didn't see any signs of wind loading or wind stiffened, affected or recently transported snow but our travel was generally in more sheltered terrain. Ski Quality was excellent after some pretty lousy and schmooey conditions on Saturday.
We didn't experience any wind loading in the NTL in our (slightly) limited travel.
