Snowpack Observations
The snowpack is thin up to 5600ft and presented challenging travel conditions. Travel became unmanageable after losing the summer trail at 4700ft.
2600ft-3000ft - 5cm of snow, with the occasional bare ground beneath thick tree cover
3000ft-4000ft - consistent 10-15cm of snow with a melt-freeze crust on the surface.
4000ft-4700ft - 30cm of snow with deeper wind drifts in places. In sheltered areas, 5cm of storm snow is sitting on a melt-freeze crust from 12/7
