Avalanche Occurrence

These natural slabs appeared to have ran during the tail end of the last storm (11/22). They ran on a layer of weak, sugary facets and a thin crust buried just beneath the recent storm snow. Similar activity was a common sight on the north slopes of Lichtenberg.

We observed a number of slabs that appeared to have run during the tail end of the last storm (11/22). They ran on a thin layer of facets and/or surface hoar on top of a thin, friable crust buried just beneath the recent storm snow. These were all on generally north aspects above 4,600ft and about a foot deep. A couple slides appeared to have been triggered by tree bombs.
