Dug in a few spots on a SE slope between 5000’ and 5200’. Avg HS was 65cm. Got a HS of 95cm on the lee of a ridge at 5200’. (Snow was blowing around today up there) The old snow/raincrust was at 10-15cm, the rest was storm snow. If the snow below the crust was softer it was very subtle. Found the old snow to be 0.5mm rounding facets of 1F hardness. Did not have any failure of the old/new snow interface in several compression tests.
