Consistent light snowfall (S1) in the AM increased to moderate snowfall (S2) in the afternoon (1400). Light winds in the AM from the SW, increasing to moderate winds in the PM. Small, isolated wind drifts were noticed, with light saltation (transport) of snow at the surface. 40cms of F- snow available for transport.
Avalanche Obs: No new avalanche obs. observed.
Snowpack Obs: See attached Snow Pilot profile. Light F new snow sits atop two prominent crust layers, the Dec. 7th MFcr down 47-49cms and late Nov MFcr down 73cms. Between these two layers the snowpack is generally strong and well-bonded. Boot pen 40cms. A few hand shears were conducted in wind-loaded pockets with no results. HS ranges between 100-150cms. CTN.
Weather Obs: Increasing precip rate and wind in PM. Obscured skies in AM & PM.
