A large natural avalanche occurred high on the north side of Mt Hood, just below the Eliot Glacier Headwall. The avalanche likely ran during the recent storms ending November 12. The crown was an estimated 150ft wide and 3ft+ deep in places. Debris ran just over 1500ft.

Took a walk up to the Cooper Spur Shelter during the period of dry, sunny weather on November 13th. Cloud Cap road was gated at the Tilly Jane Sno-Park (3800ft) and the Tilly Jane and Polallie Ridge Trails were snow free until 6500ft. More continuous snow began near 7000ft. Snow surfaces in the alpine were firm, icy, and wind-battered with plenty of exposed rock and ice.
