Yes

No
Avalanche Type:
Other
Size:
Size 1: Relatively harmless to people
Elevation:
6.5k'
Aspect:
S
Comments:
Was triggering small slabs (smaller than dinner plate; <1/16" deep) easily with slopes under 35 degrees and was punching down in areas over 2.5' when booting with Trango Techs.
The small slabs seemed to be triggered by recent storm interfaces not bonding well to the previous storm interface and there being multiple cold nights (<20 degrees F) in a row at high elevations.
Did you observe any avalanches?
Yes
Avalanche Type:
Dry Loose (Sluff)
Size:
Size 1: Relatively harmless to people
Elevation:
7k'
Aspect:
S
Comments:
Observed D1/D1.5 dry sluff/wet loose in the distance off over below Abernathy Ridge between Pt 7885 (48.47544, -120.50394) on aspects over 35 degrees on S facing terrain. Seemed to be a common avalanche chute.
None reported
- Wind texturing at/above treeline.
- Weak interfaces: no stability between the first and second interface and less than ideal stability between the second and lower layers.
- More than enough snow for a D2 avalanche, or a D3 avalanche if the right trigger was done and the snow had enough distance to run.
- Observed small rollerballs and tree bombs as well in the afternoon without obvious triggers.
- Snow under 6k' in the afternoon was turning to slushy late spring/summer conditions.
