Followed a series of nicely flowing up tracks up through Silver Basin, down into Morse Creek (HS 235cm at 6100ft) , over Sourdough Gap, and into the Sheep Lake. The main Sheep Lake Peak couloir was skied over the weekend, so we opted for the climbers left gully - skinning the lower fan then booting the upper portion (boot pen 15-30cm). At around 6400ft, the bottom of the 4/9 interface was noticeably thinner and weaker with some near crust faceting likely present on E-NE aspects. No instabilities observed with cool winds keeping surface wetting mostly at bay on all aspects. Saw only one older (4/10?) loose avalanche (D1, ESE, 6600ft, ran 400ft). Snowpack through this entire area appeared strong, well settled, and capable of handling upcoming heat well.
