Comments:
Large glide cracks observed above lower section of Bryant peak couloir and surrounding cliff rock bands. In the span of 20 minutes, we observed at least two D2 slides, one that entrained snow and ran the width of the couloir, perhaps triggered by overhead debris, around 12:40pm.
None reported
Our group ascended to the Thumbtack basin in the morning, skiied the north slopes of Chair Peak, and then skinned back to the Source/Snow lake divide to ski down back to Source lake. Observation above was from the Source/snow lake saddle. Much stronger sunshine than expected perhaps warmed snow near rocks - the area one of the slides ran through was a popular up-track and very near another group. We also observed some icefall on a steep, exposed slope north of Chair peak.
