Today was one of those let-er-rip tater chip kind of days. Traction was amazing and we saw no evidence of recent avalanches. There were a few large ones from a while ago with debris chunks still sticking thru the new snow. We dug a small test pit and got a 4” slab to break loose on the second elbow tap of our column test. What we did start to see that is concerning was the large surface hoar building on the NW aspects, and a smaller one developing on the E aspects.
