Skied NE aspect of clear cut from 4800'-4300', 50 cm of new(3 days) powder. Temp 28 F, Wind 3-15 SW with some surface transport, signs of significant drifting at ridge top (several feet) over last 5 days with firm wind surface on top and east aspect ridge top. Lots of whumpfing on climb out . Hasty pit at 4600' on NNE aspect of 22 degree slope had 145 cm TD, 50 cm very soft on surface with varying density (accumulated over last 5-6 days with cold temps). Pencil hard 3m crust at 50cm down with clean shear at CT 19 (see photo). Ski penetration 25 cm, BP 70cm. Bottom 60 cm of snow pack solidly stuck to ground. Snowmobiles doing some climbing on 35 degree slopes with no signs of instability. Folks are not being adventuresome along Chumstick ridge. Several "pits" evident from stuck snowmobiles on level surfaces.
