Signs of Unstable Snow

Did you see shooting cracks?
Yes, Widespread
Did you experience collapsing or whumpfing?
No

Observations

I initiated several long shooting cracks not undercut by a skin track, and many where undercut by a skin track. Most switchbacks produced cracks similar to picture.
Failing down 20-50 cm on a subtle density change in storm snow. Less dense (F-) and barely perceptible slab failing failing over more dense (F+) snow. Hand shears failed consistently on isolation or with very light pressure, on same weak layer.
Observed consistently on N-W-S aspects. I was traveling around 4000-4500’, near Skibowl but not in bounds.
