Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

10cm new snow at the sno park by 9am Sat, 50cm above the crust at 4600’. Squalls throughout the day brought heavy snow at times with occasional patches of sun and blue sky. Winds picked up near tree line but stuck to cautious terrain and didn’t venture above to see how much was drifting. Quick snow pit test resulted in CTM11, sudden collapse above the crust. Heard a third hand report of a remote triggered slide by snowmobiles below a road, but unconfirmed.
