Weather: Slightly overcast with occasional 5-10mph gusts coming from NE. Noticeable runnels everywhere in the mission backcountry from the massive rain event. Snow surface varied from breakable crust to supportable crust. Travel was not what one would necessarily call easy.
Dug a pit at 5.6k NE aspect.
135 HS. 1F 135-130cm. Knife hard crust at 130cm. Pencil-Knife 130cm-117cm. 1/4 or 12/21 Pencil crust at 1F 117cm to 20cm. Knife crust layers from 20cm to ground. No faceted layer on the ground as previously found in this location a week prior. Shear test produced Q2-RP failure on 1/4 or 12/21 crust @ 117cm. Shear test produced Q3-BRK failure at 83cm(interface not easily identifiable in this pit). Shear test produced Q2-RP on 12/9 crust at 70cm. Compression test resulted in CTE10-RP on 1/4 or 12/21 crust @ 117cm. CTM18-BRK @ 100cm.
