Snowpack observations showed 40-50cm of recent snow over the 12/29 interface. In the location where we dug this was buried surface hoard and small needles. Snowpack test failed with sudden planar results. In the photo. The black card denotes the 12/29 and the blue card marks the 12/21 interfaces.
Winds were activity blowing snow along ridgecrest. Several smaller wind loaded slopes failed with ease and produced cracking or small avalanches.
