Toured on various southern aspects up to 8300ft on the 28th and 29th. We saw almost no signs of instability, despite ample evidence of wind transport and lots of warming on the 28th. Quite warm 28th afternoon, which formed a decent (but unsupportive) crust by 29th morning up to around 7600ft on the most sun-exposed slopes. In one or two places on the 28th we managed to fracture 1-2ft wide, 4-5inch deep "slabs" by stomping above our skin tracks, but these showed no propensity to propagate beyond our skis. Generally much more accumulation on the old crust below (1-2ft) treeline than above (4-8in) on the exclusively southern aspects that we were on.
