From a distance we saw an impressive, long-running avalanche that had slid on the NE face of Crown Point. It was unclear if it had run today or yesterday but it looked fresh and I think it was today. It crossed a ski/skin track at the bottom. It was hard to tell at a distance but it looked like a skier had skinned up and triggered it with a ski cut or cornice drop.Photo:

Observations
We skied N aspects in Bullion up to 36 degrees in trees and an open bowl, triggering nothing but light stuffing. The wind loading appeared minimal farther than a few feet into the bowl. We were on the lookout for dense or deep wind slab but couldn’t find it in Bullion on the N faces other than small cornices at ridge tops. The crust could be felt 8-12” down on some turns and never seemed far. The new snow was dry and light on that aspect. Several other small groups were out that day and had also been the day before.
