Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Traveling with AIARE 1 class.
Strong winds and heavy snowfall, tapering off to light winds and snow by 12pm.
Dug a pit on a N facing slope at approx. 4200ft. Performed compression and extended column test. CM15 fractured at 31cm, ECTP15 fractured at 37cm.
Our group did not enter avalanche terrain and we did not see any evidence of avalanches due to very low visibility.
Snow quality for skiing was great!
