Toured mostly W aspects from pass level to above 5k. Travel conditions were mixed. Truly sheltered open slopes held fine skiing, but many had been variably scoured in only semi-predictable ways. Scouring extends far below the ridgetops. Many trees hold icy crusts beneath.
Coverage near pass level was less than expected -- low-elevation routes are still problematic.
Weather: mostly sunny, easterly flow dominating. Dipped in and out of the inversion through the day.
Avalanche: along with wind-scouring comes thin windslab. Most-reactive patches dinner-plated larger than skis far below the ridgetops.
The E side of Humpback appears from afar to have had some large slides.
Snowpack: Surface hoar of varying size up to 1cm evident on open-sky snow at many elevations. The sun did very little to melt it by 2pm.
