Observations
Above 4000’ there was significant snow over a hard crust. Below 4000’ was dust on crust, making for very difficult skiing and skinning. Widespread surface hoar was present at all elevations on the E slopes of Mt Margaret. The top layer of storm snow started out very cold and dry in the morning. In the afternoon, the top inch or so was beginning to soften and get heavy around 4000’.
