This large avalanche occurred naturally just as the storm was starting to wind down. The avalanche occurred between 5am and 8am, as a vehicle had driven up the road, and was trapped on the other side by the subsequent avalanche which blocked their return path.
Unknown width, bed surface and crown. It is suspected that the avalanche failed near the ridgeline, 4000ft above the road. Debris piles were 10ft deep; this was large enough to destroy a vehicle.
