Signs of Unstable Snow

On the NW side of Cave Ridge around 5k ft noticed some cracks while skinning and there seemed to be about 1 inch of wind consolidated snow on the surface, but would break apart easily with a hand pit. The sun came out on top of Cave Ridge and the temperature seemed to rise.

We skied down the drainage between Guye Peak and Cave Ridge and found the snow had become heavier than on our way up. In the morning the snow was dry and we couldn't make a snowball, on the way down it was prime snowball snow. We didn't see signs of wind effect on the south side of cave ridge once we dropped below the ridgeline.

Plenty of large tree bombs coming down on the way out.
