Sunny day, lots of smaller roller balls but no pinwheels. Often fresh roller balls were accompanied with others that were days old. Snow softened considerably in the afternoon and became somewhat sticky. Hikers in boots were often sinking to mid calf in places but staying fully on the surface in others.
