Conducted a test profile on a SE-facing slope near the Boulderfield, at 4400'. Found right-side up new snow sitting atop an ice crust ~34cm down. In the mid-pack, I found an array of MF crusts in between 4F+-to-Pencil-hard small rounds. I conducted a CT and observed a CT16 (BRK) down 17cm, and CT24 (RP) down 35cm. I also observed an ECTN17 down 19cm.
Cold, dry new snow provided excellent riding conditions today. Broken or OVC skies for most of the day. Air temp taken was -3.3C at 4400'. No blowing snow or precipitation was observed.
