Noticed character of snow changing as we ascended the couloir but no shooting cracks or whumpfing. Wind transport and spindrift off of SEWS was depositing snow down below towards the top of the couloir. Ridgeline was scoured with large cornices to the NE. Skied the top cautiously and cut a D1 wind slab that funneled down a choke point and left a fan of debris ~500 feet below. Initial release triggered another wind slab in the slide path below as it went. No incident.
