Went up to the exit notch for the Slot/Snot/Crooked couloirs. We were hoping to ski into the thunder creek basin and climb up Avalanche Mt. Saw active wind loading and new cornice formation so we bailed on that idea and went a different way.
Despite rain in the Alpental parking lot, we found dry-ish snow above ~4500’ and close to 12” of storm snow. Skiing was great.
We continued to Avalanche mountain later in the day. Saw some wind loading on the summit ridge but not too bad. Didn’t see any snow moving today. New storm snow seems to be well bonded to the rain crust from earlier this week
