Dug a pit at ~5900’ on western aspect of pea gravel ridge, above Jill’s woods. Lower layers looked consolidated but upper ~6” of recent snow fall broke on my 23rd hit of compression test, as shown in photo. Did not see any shooting cracks on top of ridge or on the way down, but did see some cornice fall which looked skier triggered (in photo). As snow continued triggered a small avalanche of this layer above clark creek, and witnessed shooting cracks in this area as well.
