We did two laps on Stormies today off of Skyline Road. Approached our first run with caution but failed to get anything to slide on steep test slopes. The snow was deep enough that speed was your friend. Many of the alder are still standing up which made many sections tricky to navigate. We did not find any instability while skiing. We did notice a wind slab had formed where higher winds were able to deposit snow where the PCT hits Lot D. I would suspect you could find this on open ridge lines exposed to the wind.
Also, watch out for tree wells. I skied a bit too close to a tree and the snow gave way causing me to fall into a well. Please keep your friends close.
