Observed Avalanche Problem #1:
Storm Slab
Comments:
Big 2ft diameter roller balls located on the south and east faces of Mt Stone and Washington on slopes at 40*. Snow at 3-5kft had a good base layer 1ft bonded well to terrain. The next 2-4ft is wet and hasn't compacted and bonded to base layer. Top good 3- 6in hard neve surface. Lots of wind drifts 7ft+. With more snow expected this week human triggered large slab avalanches in the next week if it hasn't healed. Activity was hiking and climbing.
