Weather Summary

Partly cloudy in morning, increasing cloud cover and snow/rain showers in afternoon. Light wind.

Snowpack Observations

Toured to 7500' on mostly North facing terrain (White Salmon). Breakable crust from a weak overnight freeze at lower elevation non-polar aspects. Crust broke down into isothermal wet snow in the afternoon. Noticed cracking up to 1 foot in isolated wind loaded pockets. No new avalanches, but saw old crowns (~1 week) up to 1 foot deep on slopes adjacent to Winnie's Slide above Fisher Chimneys camp. White Salmon skied well with a few inches of dry snow/graupel on a supportable wind buff.
