The Northwest Avalanche Center (NWAC) is a community-supported nonprofit, and becoming a member is one of the most direct ways to fund the avalanche and mountain weather forecasts that backcountry travelers in the PNW rely on. Anyone who gives $30 or more is considered a member for one year from their donation date, with benefits that include:

• The Monthly Beacon: NWAC's member-only monthly newsletter, delivered straight to your inbox. It's packed with tips and insight from NWAC's forecasters, a behind-the-scenes look at the organization's work, and partner discount codes.
• Partner discounts: Members get exclusive deals with brands like CalTopo, Woolly, and onX Backcountry. You can access your discount codes in the monthly member newsletter, The Monthly Beacon. If you aren't receiving The Monthly Beacon, please email membership@nwac.us.
• Free SlabLab community membership: A complimentary membership to the SlabLab community, where backcountry enthusiasts can connect with like-minded people, join pro-led workshops, and access additional gear and course discounts.
• Membership swag: Depending on their giving level, members can choose from seasonal gifts like t-shirts, beanies, hoodies, and gear from partners like eqpd and Outdoor Research.
• Supporting NWAC's mission: Membership dollars fund daily avalanche and weather forecasts across the Washington Cascades, Olympics, and Mt. Hood area, support the largest mountain weather station network in North America, and fund hundreds of education programs annually.
